The Demand for Mobile Vehicles Continues
There is no doubt you have seen our mobile vehicles on the road, but never knew our company, Mobile Specialty Vehicles, had manufactured them. The reason for this is that the side panels of these mammoth trailers, motor coaches, cutaway trucks, five wheel semis, and sprinter vans were emblazoned with words like Emergency, Rescue, or the names of health agencies, municipalities, law enforcement agencies, and animal rescue groups. As you have probably surmised, our mobile vehicles are meant to deliver vital services. And they are currently in high demand due to the back up in medical services that resulted from the COVID-19 mandated shutdown of all but emergency medical services.
Mobile Specialty Vehicles Take Up the Slack
Since many people are still hesitant to enter hospitals and doctors offices, hospitals and doctors are bringing mammograms, dental exams, pediatric checkups, medical testing, vaccinations and other primary care services to neighborhoods and the people who live in them. So don’t be surprised if you see one of our motor vehicles on the streets of your town or city. And don’t forget the bloodmobile, entities like the Red Cross have been using our trucks and motor coaches in their blood collection drives for years. But with the aforementioned fear of entering hospitals and labs, the supplies of almost all blood types are running low, making our vehicles more critical than ever.
Although the pandemic has intensified the need for mobile vehicles, they can also be of use in delivering medical services to people who lived in what are known as medical deserts. These are urban areas as well as rural ones that have no local doctors or hospitals, even in the best of times. And to make it worse, people who live there have no transportation to travel to hospitals or doctors’ offices. Technology is coming to the rescue with telehealth communication that lets people and doctors meet virtually. But since there’s no such thing as a virtual dental exam or blood test, hospitals and healthcare agencies are purchasing our lab-equipped vehicles to serve the populations living there.
Mobile Specialty Vehicles to the Rescue
All over the country, catastrophes are displacing people and turning parking lots and open areas into refuge camps. Wildfires, hurricanes, and massive floods are all creating situations where people are in need of emergency food, medical care, clothing, and water. And our motor vehicles are used to deliver them. Pets’ lives have also been upended, separating them from their owners, so animal rescue agencies travel the distance in our cage-equipped motor coaches to rescue them until they can be reunited with their families, or placed with rescue groups that can find new homes for them.
Mobile Specialty Vehicles Report for Duty
If you’re a part of law enforcement or fire services, our motor coaches can be at your command. And we mean that literally. Custom made with office furniture, satellite communications, and tactical work stations, they make ideal command centers, ready, willing, and able to report for duty should you need them. And in a time of social unrest, there is a growing demand for them.
Mobile Specialty Vehicles Go Back to School
If you think back to your school days, you may remember reporting to the nurse’s office or auditorium for routine hearing or vision tests. And depending on your age, these tests may have been very rudimentary. Today’s testing methods depend on computer aided equipment instead of vision charts and beeping machines, necessitating the need for audiologists and specially trained optometry technicians to administer tests. In an age when school districts can not even afford full time school nurses for each school, the idea of being able to hire even one testing team is not a realistic one. But many counties are making use of our cutaways, cab chassis vehicles, and motor coaches to visit their schools for preliminary hearing and vision testing and referrals to specialists for students who need their services.
If you have a need for any of our vehicles, but you don’t see it mentioned here, check our website, or better yet, contact the team at Mobile Specialty Vehicles, because we have yet to meet a need our custom equipped vehicles can’t fill.
